Stan & Kathy Wolcott are originally from Southern California where we were active in promoting a healthy lifestyle. Arriving in Knoxville roughly twenty years ago, we began organizing vegetarian cooking classes, hikes and seminars promoting healthy lifestyles. In 2008 we switched to a whole foods plant based lifestyle and have been active in that role since, organizing "Healthy Taste, Inc.", "Healthy Taste of Knoxville," yearly events with "Healthy Taste Cooking" meetup group is a monthly cooking event. "KnoxvilleInstep" meetup walking group hosts events weekly and now the" theVeggielink" meetup group assists and coordinates additional vegan dinners or cooking classes in East Tennessee.
Kathy is a Registered Nurse and has been active as a "CHIP" facilitator and "Depression Recovery" trainer and both of us had participated in presenting "CHIP" programs and "Diabetes Reversal" programs.
Stan has been active coordinating plant based events, such as setting up a Q&A booth at the Downtown West Theater to answer questions during the "Forks Over Knives" movie run at the theater and helping to coordinate the "Plant Pure Nation" movie night at the Turkey Creek Regal Cinema. Both of us enjoy working with the various vegan/plant based groups here in Knoxville. Stan is a lifelong vegetarian/vegan and both he and Kathy have been participants for more than 50 years in the "Adventist Health Study" conducted by Loma Linda University since 1960.
